The ACC Advantage

Known for its high quality, well-respected programs and affordability, Alvin Community College (ACC) is one of the best tools available for achieving your academic and professional career goals. To make education easily accessible, ACC offers nearly 900 credit courses leading to numerous degrees at various locations in northern Brazoria County, including its two campuses, in Alvin and Pearland, and satellite locations at several area high schools. In the heart of historic downtown Pearland, at 2319 North Grand Blvd., ACC’s campus also focuses on technical programs and workforce development training. An added bonus is that Shadow Creek Ranch residents live inside the college district and enjoy lower tuition.

Offering services to people 18 months old and up, ACC is not just a college that prepares students to transfer to four-year universities. With its Child Development Lab School, its offers professional childcare for children of students and employees while providing an environment for Early Childhood Development students to gain hands on training.

For a new career, consider one of the exemplary rated programs, such as Radio/TV Broadcasting, Court Reporting, Criminal Justice and Associate Degree Nursing. Or consider the latest programs – Polysomnography (sleep study) or Pediatric Echocardiography.

High school students enjoy the Dual Credit program. It provides an opportunity for juniors and seniors to enroll in college-level courses and receive high school and college credit. By taking two classes per semester, students can earn up to 30 college credit hours (the equivalent to one year of college work) while still in high school. Students may enroll during the school year or the summer.

Are you a casual learner? ACC offers classes in areas of special interest like: Gift Ideas, Karate, Pen & Ink Oil Rouging, Interpersonal Communications, Party Planning 101, and many more.

For young learners, consider Kids’ College and the Children's Theater. Both offer popular and fun opportunities for children to learn new skills that will last a lifetime.

The ACC Theatre hosts over five productions each year, with two Children's Theatre plays taking place in the summer. The Art Gallery houses works created by ACC students and often hosts works from other individuals, organizations and schools. The Gallery is open to the community year-round.

Looking for more? Take advantage of short courses to become a Realtor or Real Estate Inspector, Pharmacy Technician, Massage Therapist, or Bank Teller.
